New IRC Med Challenge is Announced
The IRC Med Challenge Mediterranean Commodores’ Cup  It will be held from Monday 7th to Sunday 13th September 2009 in Barcelona. This race is opened to teams of 3 IRC boats (endorsed certificates), dedicated to the best crews from Spain, France, Italy, and all other Mediterranean countries such as Greece, Turkey, Malta, Monaco, Adriatic countries. Teams from the British Channel and the Atlantic Ocean are also invited. Teams will be formed with three boats, one of each class as follow: - · A Class: TCC from 1.110 to 1.225
- · B Class: TCC from 1.060 to 1.109
- · C Class: TCC from 1.020 to 1.059
Teams will be set up by yachting clubs and no more than 4 teams will be accepted for each country. Request for registration will be opened by April 15th, and will be accepted by the organization committee, according to the date of receipt, on a "first come first served" basis. Program: - · 7th-8th september : Yachts and crews registration, skipper Briefing
- · 9th september : 2 races de 10-12 nm start 11h30
- · 10th september : 2 races de 10-12 nm start 11h30
- · 11th september : Offshore race 24 – 36 hours long, start 12h00
- · 12th september : Finish of Offshore race
- · 13th september : 1 race 10-12 nm start 11h30 - Prize Giving Ceremony 16h00.
